Nowadays, there are so many international students in Melbourne, and we are curious about how much they spend, what they do for living and how they can save their money. Since we are international students here in Melbourne, we would like to know by making this survey and asking other international students so that we can know what is the best way to deal with finance problems. Furthermore, what we expect is they spend the most money on rent because we all know that rent in Melbourne is expensive. Therefore, we want to know how much they spend on it. Besides, we also think that a significant amount of money is spent on food by international students. Thus, this survey can compare the amount of money which they use in Melbourne between rent and food.

Through the survey that we took, we are able to understand the spending and saving habits of international students. There are many great findings that we discovered after collecting data.

We recommend international students have a plan to save their money so that they can know the amount of money they spend per week or month. Moreover, after collecting the data, the majority of international students spend most of their money on shopping. Thus, they should consider what their demand are. We recommend students to buy what they actually need to buy instead of buying what they want to buy. Moreover, we suggest that international students should cook by themselves when they have enough time. It helps them save a lot of money spending for restaurants . Additionally, having a savings account would be the most effective way to help international students on saving money. Their money is not only be secure , but it also helps student manage their money easily. There are also interest for their savings if they know the right one to invest in. Also, international students can use Australian banks to avoid the foreign transaction fee charged. Lastly, finding some part-time jobs after school which can help students can have extra money for their livings.

one reason international students face is they do not budgeting and managing money. According to Sachitra, Wijesinghe, Gunasena (2019) students need to be extremely responsible and challenges with respect to budgeting monthly expenses. For example, we learned from our study that some of ELICOS students do have a part time job but some of them do not have a part time job. Thus, some of them have a little bit extra money for saving but some may not. However the minority of students do saving and budgeting money such as spending less, having a limitation for spending or save money in saving accounts. Another reason students face is the majority of ELICOS student do not have a part time job. Additionally, some of students said either they do not have time or they could not find a job. According to Yan, Lin, Horiuchi, Takashi (2020) The present study examined how job satisfaction and exhaustion are affected by motivational regulation and style in the part-time jobs of international students in Japan. for example, one of ELICOS student said they do not have time to find a job because they have to focus on school instead of work.
