         <description><![CDATA[<p>The indigenous people, or those that were being colonized did not have their perspectives represented in the images or stories. Their silence meant that the image was shaped solely by the individual holding the camera. If that individual was an anthropologist, archeologist, or colonizer, the image would be created to tell the story that the person holding the camera wanted to tell. Thus the images tell you all about someone's culture based on what someone else outside the culture wants you to hear/see.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>I notice the perspectives of Indigenous people are missing since it primarily focuses on 19th-century colonialism and anthropologists. The lack of Indigenous experiences gives the viewer of the photographs a narrative based on what the person behind the camera wants us to see. Their perspective is limited and doesn't give a comprehensive picture of the historical and cultural conditions during this time.  </p>]]></description>
