Working in a setting of Early Childhood that consists of the range of daycare to 3rd-grade ages are places that I would describe as co-nurturing, in the development of infants and young children where they get the foundation of their learning that isn't just academic but lifelong as well, this period of youth also consists of many milestones.

I would consider having a career in ECE, I would find it enjoyable to be able to assist parents in the education and safety provided to their children, ECE is a career option that I would see for the incredible value that children carry that they themselves need to get a sense of how important they can mean to themselves.

Educational Agencies/ Leaders

Working in or with Educational Agencies/ Leaders would mean supervision of the PreK-12 grade levels in a district or education offices, guiding the educators and other staff in the physical school buildings

I would find it beneficial to be able to work in these positions as it's a position of initial power, being able to look after and assist children and infants while their parents are at work is one way, but being able to come up with as well as analysis district protocols and policies that will impact children is a form of authority

College and University

Working in child and adolescent development tends to offer variety and flexibility in a college and university setting. As a student, there are positions in the psychology department or the college of education, this includes the teaching spectrum of the tenure track, as well as working in administration for department chair and program positions. This applies to both two and four-year institutions, public and private.

I see interest in the ability due to its flexibility of being able to teach while completing schooling [part-time adjunct lecturer], I would imagine it would provide the balance and experience of being in an in-office setting and interacting with those who are invested in the career field as well as putting into practice what I've learned to pass down.

Counseling and School Psychologist

One of my initial career and study choices was psychology, so I felt a deeper reason for picking this but I never really imagined wanting to pursue it in the area of child and adolescent development in an academic setting or consider wanting to go for family help. However, I believe that school counseling could be improved, especially based on my personal experience. In early school years, children go through a lot of changes and shifts that are caused by both direct and indirect factors, as still hyper-developing human creatures, it's important to pay attention to children, it is consistent that children and adolescents will go through periods of times where they feel pressured or negative about things around and about them, and having a healthy, positive authority figure where they can minimally talk about their thoughts and emotions, as well as options that they can be available to them is severely important.

For the kindergarten aspect of being an educator, I feel like it meets the standard process of being secondhandly responsible for the educational progress and looking after children. There is a lot that I could pick up that symbolizes how children capture and learn things around their environment. As the grade levels go up, the greater I would imagine the reading, writing, and social activities to increase in difficulty, that is one thing that interests me and something else that I would like to learn about. I remember some teachers that I had in elementary school that went from teaching 1st grade to 2nd grade, as well as other teachers doing that one-year above change.

This would still interest me as it is meant to be a very happy setting, that has its balance of challenges and obstacles

-Lots of visuals and social interaction (getting into their groups, colors, letters, music + song singing along, individual reading assistance)

-lots of moving (from iPads to groups, to the carpets from their desks)

-Madison still manages to engage in nurturingactivitiess such as a fitness class and reading that also includes a self-care routine

My current majors of interest and choice are Criminal Justice and Social Work. I am in my second year and do not currently have a job position. I have had the idea to work as a classroom assistant with the Children's Center to get exposure to working and being around children. One of my career choices that is based on being around adolescents and aiding them in development is working with a Juvenile Detention Center. Personal goals that I have is to have a job before the summer, ideally with something that would engage in the skill of assisting others especially children, but at the moment any job is what I could hope for. I plan on appling to be a Juvenile Detention Officer Assistant in the county of San Joaquin as a big internship plus job opportunity. I like to be a happy person around people, to be optimistic and being able to help others, I like to say that one of my qualities is patience, I manage to keep physical and expressive peace even when feeling stressed, something I think that is extremely important when working with people in general. I believe that I could have a career in Child and Adolescent Development especially after learning more about the subject in ways it intersects, having experience working and enganing with others in a more professional manner, as well as completing any legal and standard practices and licenses.
