Personalized learning does not mean eliminating the teacher. It is a balance. Some kids are ready to take control of what they learn and how they learn it. Others may not want control or not ready to have the control over what and how they learn. She says the key for teachers is to lay framework, create a community of learners who don't throw in the towel when they are stuck, and make classroom expectations clear.

When he used his camera to tell the children he was lost in Greenland and asked if they could email him directions, list of clothes and animals was absolutely amazing. And to have all of the learners engaged at such a young age is amazing!

These stories are amazing. I feel like it will be a slow progression towards Personalized Learning. However, I feel like I can take baby steps once in my classroom. I feel like giving the learners choice and voice will be an easy way to get started. I want to end up like Chris. Where I can be imaginative and let the kids use their brains to have fun and learn in my classroom. I think it will take time and effort, but perseverance and hard work will pay off for me and my learners.
