Albert Einstein, German-born and living in the US, was offered presidency of Israel in 1952. Einstein was politely declined, stating "I am deeply moved by the offer from our State of Israel, and at once saddened and ashamed that I cannot accept it." Even though Einstein was not a Jew in the traditional sense, he did speak around the U.S, raising money for Zionism, which greatly helped with the expansion of the land the people of Israel needed.

Einstein's NOT always right

Everybody makes mistakes in math. That includes Einstein. He once even proposed a theory that seemed entirely correct, except at one point he put a minus sign instead of a plus sign.

He also believed that a black hole was "too preposterous a notion to be real", even though nowadays it's common knowledge.

Albert Einstein was actually a PACIFIST. This may not seem hard to believe at first, but then you need to take into account that his famous equation e=mc2 was the equation scientists needed to create the ATOMIC BOMB. E=mc2 expressed his theory that matter could be converted into huge amounts of energy. The ATOMIC BOMB also started the NUCLEAR AGE (which we currently live in). Despite all of this, Einstein still expressed his desires for more understanding in the world across the U.S.

As Einstein put it, there were two encounters in his childhood that had major effects on his career: at age 5, he marveled at how a compass worked, and at age 12, when he found a geometry book, which he read continually.

Einstein was also able to land an easy job at a patent office, where he used his extra time to work on his theories. It's most likely that his 1905 papers would never have been published had he not scored his job there.

He was also partially, but indirectly, responsible for the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

People's view on space-time has changed forever, we're now in the nuclear age, we have a much better understanding of light, and time is relative, not a constant.

Einstein got an easy job at a patent office, where he had plenty of time to consider his theories. This solidified his later career of being a physicist.

Because he published his equation e=mc2, he advocated for peace and understanding, instead of simply bombing your enemies.

Einstein's Theory of Relativity has helped change our understanding of space and time (space-time), and forever. Also, many of his inspirational quotes are just simple rules that people should try to stand by, such as: "Imagination is more important than knowledge."

Before Einstein, people's view on the universe was severely limited. Most believed time was a constant, and the universe was a complete mystery. Knowledge of light was also limited, until he proposed the photoelectric effect, for which he earned a Nobel Prize.
