Adab is an essential element in the education system because education in general, does not only aim for intellectual excellence but also personality excellence. Many subjects in school or university have roles to play in strengthening adab. For instance, in language studies, students are not just taught about speaking and writing with the correct grammar, but also the best choice of words and sentence construction that reflect politeness, modesty, and respect.

The purpose of learning adab is to discipline one's mind and habits by performing of right actions, and against the wrong ones. As Muslims, possessing adab means being conscious of our responsibilities towards Allah SWT, understanding and fulfilling the obligation.

The Five Pillars of Islam :

1. Shahada (Faith) - The declaration of faith in one God (Allah) and His Messenger (SAW).

2. Salah (Prayer) - The ritual prayer required of every Muslim five times a day throughout their lifetime.

3. Zakat (Almsgiving) -The act of giving a portion of a Muslim's wealth to those in need throughout their lifetime.

4. Sawm (Fasting) - The act of fasting during the holy month of Ramadan.

5. Hajj (Pilgrimage) - The sacred pilgrimage to Mecca is required of every Muslim at least once in their lifetime if it is within their means.

Belief in Allah :

First, faith in Allah means believing firmly in His existence, Lordship, and Divinity. It is obligatory to believe in the names and attributes that Allah has affirmed for Himself and what His Messenger has affirmed, without asking how or distorting the meaning, or denying any of it.

Belief in Malaikat :

As for belief in angels, it is one of the six pillars of faith and whoever does not believe in any of these pillars is not a believer (Mukmin). Allah created angels from light and they obey the commands of Allah, no one can claim to have seen them in their true form unless he is a Prophet whose words are to be believed.

Belief in Kitab :

Belief in the Books of Allah means firm belief that all of them were revealed by Allah and that Allah spoke them in a real sense. It is obligatory for all Muslims to follow the Quran outwardly and inwardly, as Allah says "And this is a blessed Book (Quran) which We have sent down, so follow it and fear Allah." [6:155]

As you all know, I am currently an English for International Communication student. I have a deep passion for languages such as English, Arabic, and Korean. Back when I chose this path and course, I decided to become a translator in the future as I am a language enthusiast and I have a strong desire to explore the world. I believe that languages not only bridge communication gaps but also foster understanding between cultures. By honing my language skills and gaining experience in the field, I want to embark on a journey that allows me to travel while helping others connect through words.

Other than that, before I can achieve my dream job, I do hope that I will do my best in cfs and get excellent grades in every subject as I really want to get Dean's List for every semester. With this achievement, not only me but my happiness will be felt by my parents.

My Reflection :

Throughout this usrah, I have learned many useful things and topics from Sr. Dalila, although the time given for this usrah only consists of 2 hours per week. Despite the short time given, Sr. Dalila still managed to tell us a lot of new knowledge that Muslims are obligated to know.

Reflecting on our usrah group, I feel a deep sense of gratitude for the supportive environment we’ve created together. Each session has allowed me to explore my faith, share personal experiences, and strengthen our bonds as a Muslim. The discussions have not only deepened my understanding in Islam but also inspired me to apply our teachings in daily life. So, I'm very content with the method used by Sr. Dalila in our usrah group.
