What will the children be like? Will they enjoy their first day? The school is nervous at the beginning, but realizes that everyone gets those first-day jitters and that he's not the only one. This book aligns with the second grade language arts standards. The purpose of text would be considered slightly complex, as it is clear and narrowly focused. The text structure would be considered moderately complex as the graphics are supplementary to understanding the text. The language features would be considered moderately complex as the vocabulary used and sentence structure is mostly easy to understand. This text would be considered overall moderately complex as the purpose of the story is clear to imply based on the context. The text structures enhance the readers understanding of the text. The language features include mostly familiar vocabulary will few words that are unfamiliar. The knowledge demands are very complex as there are many references to outside ideas. </div>]]></description>
