They know it's purpose but they have no idea who or what is using it. 

They have almost no information about where it comes from. This box also generates confusion to the characters. They don´t know anything.

As the reader, you might want to speculate where does this box come from or who is using it and for what. They represent fright, horror, and fear. 

The grievers are sort of an animal look-like beast. The characters have almost no information about the grievers. The grievers cause them intrigue too. 

As the reader or spectator, I would say that grievers are a strange machine or beast created by who is running all of this. The glade represents security and peace for everyone because they are safe there... or at least that is what they think. 

The glade is a circular shaped space in the center of the maze. People live there and do everyday tasks there. They have explored the majority of the glade and there is where they feel safe. 

As the reader, I would feel safe in the glade. I would like to stay there and help from there. I think that the glade could be a refugee.

The maze represents and generates fear and confusion to the characters.

This place is a maze that is constantly evolving and changing at every hour. They have sort of an idea and a map that might be wrong, but they explore it often. They take maps to change anything that is wrong.  

As the reader, the maze causes me curiosity and I would die to see what there is outside of this. The Gladers don't know where do they go or what is there the bottom. 

The Gladers show intrigue and curiosity about this cliffs in the novel. They might use them as a weapon and a trick for the grievers to fall. They haven´t explored this part much, as it causes them fear, but curiosity.

As the reader, I think that this cliffs are no more than just a giant whole that has rocks in the bottom. The Gladers explore this walls often, and the walls change randomly in any direction for any periods of time. The walls is what prevent the Gladers of getting out of the maze. They can´t see the top or out of these. 

As the reader, you might speculate what is outside of this walls. I might think that there is a normal world and anyone knows about this project.
