This fungus is cause of yeast infections and thrush known as candidiasis. Candida is naturally found on and in the body in small amounts but can cause these infections when overgrowth occurs or a reaction to some medications. Some symptoms of candidiasis are a red rash on skin, itching, inflammation, gentile discharge, and white lesions of the mouth and tonsils. Treatment for the fungus is antifungal oral medications and creams along with dietary supplements like a probiotic.
