I grew up in a small town in mid-southern Utah called Salina. In this town there's a lot of farmers and they had a large impact on who I have become by teaching me the meaning and value of hard work. I owe a lot of how I interact with others and how I tackle difficult tasks from them.

My family obviously played a big role and is a massive part of my culture. I've been taught by them how important family is and that isn't only who your related to by blood. I've got quite a few uncles and aunts who have no blood relation to me and even an adopted brother but they are still family just as much as my own mother. So whether it is a found or blood family they are always important because of the fact that you have each others back.

Being pansexual myself as well as having many friends from the same community it has become a pretty big part of my life even though I don't fully openly show it. I have learned many things being apart of this community chief thing being to be accepting of others and their lifestyles as well as learning how to love myself despite what others may think about me.

The natural world

This is one of my personal identities which is understanding and respecting the natural world. I feel like it can be difficult because of how much our world has advanced technologically, while that isn't a bad thing I still think it is important to remember the natural world and all of it's intricacies. It is also very important to maintain respect for the natural world by making sure we do our part to not completely destroy and to remember kindness for all of the creatures in this world. I even keep all kinds of fruits and snacks safe for animals in my car so that I can give them to birds and other animals that I see when I am out and about to help them live their life.

Karma

Karma is a belief that I learned from my father that I have kept with me and abide by. While I don't have as strong of a belief as him in karma that if you do nothing but good you will receive nothing but good I still believe to a degree and abide by it. I think that sometimes bad things happen to good people and good things happen to bad people because there is no complete law to these things but if you do good things then you are bound to have good things happen to you whether you realize they are good or not. I also think that sometimes your worst days can be the ones that save you such as when I lost my childhood home and had to move to Salt Lake City. At first I thought it was the worst thing and that my world was ending but as I have grown and matured as well as seen how some of the people who still live in Salina lives have gone I now think that it is a good thing this happened to me because I was able to expand my perspective and beliefs from it that I would have never gotten. It also taught me how to lose everything and get back up in a strange new place which I am grateful for.
