Summary:
The author in this article uses very strong claims in regards to informing educators about mental illness in all grade levels. in this article Mayor Gerri Lynn O'connor's shows how she is one of many educators that is not well informed on mental illness. Fifty percent of all lifetime cases of mental illness begin by age 14 and the average delay in accessing intervention from the onset symptoms is 8 to 10 years. Mental illness can be triggered in many different ways, for example some mental illness results from trauma.
Evaluation:
This paper helps define the problem more than solving it. Looking at this paper the readers awareness about mental health can be raised but would not provide enough information for a solution. Although this is an opinion and editorial I most likely wouldn't use this but i would reference back to it for the facts that were provided throughout this article.

Summary:
According to the National Youth Rights Association (NYRA), an organization working to lower the legal voting age to 16 from 18 years old, argue that a person should be able to vote if one has a job and even pays taxes. There are several voices on this issue. Supporters state that the youngsters are the future of a country and they deserve to have a voice. Social medias play an important role in teenagers, as they provide the latest information about politics and current events. On the contrary, some people say that the teen voters do not have enough life experiences and education to help them on making a rational choice; they are not responsible to make such a significant decision. For those who are not sure about whom they are going to choose, will just copy their parents’ views or vote the opposite to be rebellious.
Evaluation:
“Lower the Voting Age” is the title of the information. Scott D’Attilo and Sheryl Tangowski are the authors of the information. It was published on 3 September 2007 and last updated on 1 November 2017. The intended audience is those who are concerned about political issues. The information is related to my topic and it is at an appropriate level. The information is a good quality source from the academic databases. The article is used to draw attention to the teen voters who stand the crucial characters on this issue. Lowering the voting age is a hot topic that everyone should put some effort into it.

SUMMARY
This article discusses the use of technology (cell phones, laptops, video games, etc.) and how they affect our everyday lives. In 8 brief questions, Dr. Adam Alter believes the fine line between hobby and addiction is quickly overshadowed. He states that an addiction does not necessarily relate to chemical substances like cocaine, but also explains the technological dependencies in the youths and their parents concern in loosing valuable face-to-face interactions.
Evaluation:
This article discusses the growing concerns of the abuse of gadgets and devices. It addresses the inflating distress Adam Alter has towards the way young children are easily addicted. This article could use more backup facts for his claims as well as opinions from parents.

Summary

This article shows how these colleges and universities made an attempt to getting students registered while holding a voter registration drive on campus. Getting the millennials to vote in the 2008 election was a tough challenge. Voting activities on campuses can boost the turnout of an election. Universities reached students by posters, emails, information brochures and many other ways. This article compares the voter turnout of students registering to vote in the 2008 presidential election through on-campus registration drives by validating votes through the office of the county voting registrar. Students who registered through the student-led registration drive turned out at a higher rate than students who registered through the faculty/staff-led drive.

Evaluation

The article was definitely credible because it is up to date and recently written about the recent 2008 presidential election. The article uses a good persuasive strategy by holding the voting drives, but I feel it would be more effective if they had celebrities on campus encouraging students to vote. The purpose of this article was to encourage college students to register and vote for a presidential election. Voting is very critical for change, getting people to vote is still a challenge today however they are coming up with more efficient ways to make it easier for people to vote.

Summary- The article covers the opinions of New York parents and the distribution of Plan B in public high schools. It discusses several parents opinions that cover different beliefs and concerns. Starting with Gilbert-Michel Rolle's outlook that offering Plan B for girls in public school without a parents consent is keeping up with the 21st century. Continuing on to Greg Krynen's opinion that it is on the parents to educate their children on sex education and provide contraceptives etc.

Evaluation- This article is valuable to the question of how to lower teen pregnancy rates. In such a controversial topic it's imperative to have everyone's opinion in order to find a solution that attempts to please everyone. The results of New York's decision to give girls Plan B gave us enough input that our solution wouldn't be as consequential but clearly there is a middle ground needed in helping and educating people in sex education.
