We discussed how we could hone our research questions even more by being more specific.

Ekta- looking to focus on playful ways to elicit ideas for writing stories in language classes.

Madhu- looking for playful ways to increase vocab

Kasthuri- looking to identify a group of students to focus on reading skills

Latha- looking at reading support/ guided reading with the higher ability group.

We then analysed Ekta’s video using Connect- Extend-Challenge

Connect- ideas and info you already know that you connected with

·         Learning about symmetry 

·         Students creating their own learning

·         A good example of transdisciplinary learning

·         Students classifying/comparing

Extend- ideas for new direction

·         Symmetry using the alphabet

·         Extending ideas around the UOI with animals e.g number of legs, mammals etc.

Challenge- things you are still finding challenging

·         Working on finding time to include student and teacher reflection into the anecdotal notes

Group is finding targeting a group of students rather than creating activities for documentation would be more manageable and easier to manage.

Remember the documentation do not have to be polished.

This activity was conducted with the targeted group in grade-1. The objective of the game was to take a group of single words and link each word with another word so they form a:
-common phrase (eg: Board game or finger food),
 -compound word (eg: catwalk, butterfly) or
 -words that commonly occur in sequence (eg: Back stage)

Challenge by choice:
The challenge of Word Circle Puzzles is to connect a group of single words into a continuous circle. 

- Making sentences using the given words.

- Identifying the ‘magic e’ words.
