         <title>Cornelius Vanderbilt</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Cornelius Vanderbilt was born May 27. 1794, Port Richmond, Staten Island, New York. At age 11 he left school to ferry passengers from Staten Island and New York City by using a boat he got from his parents. He expanded his business, but eventually sold all of his boats to be a steamship captain.  In the 1850s he had completely turned away from boats and went on to railroads by buying stock in the Harlem Railroad.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Andrew Carnegie was born on November 25, 1835 in Scotland. He was recognized as one of the wealthiest businessmen of the 19th century. In life, he worked for a railroad company and slowly made investments.  He went on to own the largest steel corporation.          <description><![CDATA[<div>George Westinghouse was born October 6, 1846 in New York City.  In 1865 he received his patent for a rotary steam engine.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Henry Bessemer was born January 19, 1813 in England. He is known as an engineer and created the first way to manufacture steel inexpensively. He went on to develop what is now called, “The Bessemer Process” which is a steel making process. He discovered many things such as how to remove excessive oxygen from iron. He is recognized for inventing the first telephone. He created The Bell Telephone Company in 1877.
