Over 2.1 billion people live in extreme poverty without access to proper sanitation, food and water, clothing, and shelter. By making sustainable goals, we will enable more people to have access to these necessities. The United Nations has released many goals to reduce the number from 2.1 billion to 836 million, as well as to reduce the child mortality rate (children under 5) by 50%. 

Another Social justice issue we could possibly explore is gender equality having to do with  inclusion. The Untied Nations have pledged to close the gender wage gap by 2030, to not only help end discrimination, but to achieve a gender inclusive global economic growth through empowerment of women.  It is estimated that the gender wage gap will take 83 years to eliminate, but the UN are working to make it happen sooner. Four key areas must be addressed when getting to the root of the issue which includes health, education, economy and politics. Unequal access to each of these things has led to the wage gap overall. Women who are equally deserving need to be in leadership positions. I feel as though we as a community should be more aware of their art, literature and culture plus the daily and recent struggles which they face. We are taught some things and acknowledge residential schools; however, I think that that's not enough. For their oppression hasn't just ended and I feel as though they have been put in the back burner of our society, and sometimes I feel like I don't even fully understand how deep their oppression has been.
