Flower Festival Primary School 1983

When I was 7-11 years old I participated in the flower festival. A student participated in each classroom and the winner was the queen of the flower. you would dress up with the flower you liked the most. I always came in 3rd place. I was the godmother of the flower . I represented the national flower of Honduras which is the Orchid. In May we had the parade and all the flower students walked in the street. I loved this time.

In The Middle School 1989

In 1989 I came to the USA when I was 13 years old.When I started school, it was difficult because I didn't understand English. They gave me a test to evaluate me, to see how much I knew and to put me on the right track. They told me I had to start in 8th grade, but my aunt moved me up to 7th grade so I could learn more English.

I started working at the age of 15, sorting tomatoes in vending machines. I remember earning my first check for $300, and that was quite a lot of money for me. With that money, I bought my clothes and school supplies.

My cousins and I liked to go dancing on the weekends. We weren't old enough to go into clubs, but we bought a fake ID that said we were 21 so they would let us in.

I started working at the Wong Te Garden Chinese Restaurant. My position was a busboy then they asked if I wanted to be a waitress. I said yes since they liked the way I treated the customers. Many client wanted me to serve them.

In May 1998 I went back to my country because my mom called me and she said to me that my grandma was very sick and she was dying. But when I arrived there it was a big lie. she was fine when I came to visit her.

I was a ballet dancer in my High School, for 4 years. I started from the beginning class to advanced class . In my senior class

I was sad because I had to leave my first born with my aunt since it was dangerous to bring him back to the USA since he was only 5 months at the time. Until 2003 I went back to Honduras to attend my grandmother's funeral, since I was at Honduras I decided it was the right time to bring my son with me.
