Argumento: La señora Mary Maloney está muy feliz. Ella y su marido, el detective Patrick Maloney, están esperando su primer hijo. Sin embargo, todo cambia una coche tras recibir de su marido una noticia impactante que la hace reaccionar de forma inesperada...
Comentario: El cuento se caracteriza por el humor ácido y negro de su autor y los giros inesperados que envuelven a sus personajes protagonistas y golpean la sensibilidad  del lector . En esta ocasión existe un ambiente, marcado por lo cotidiano, que se ve truncado por un suceso dramático y que nos lleva, en espiral, a un final macabro.

Plot:  This story is about how a woman finds out that her husband has died in an accident and then has thoughts about how her new future is going to be. She confronts herself with the feeling of freedom from a life that wasn’t what she truly desired.
Review:  The author makes a brilliant and accurate description of the woman’s feelings. The atmosphere and the main character's feelings are so well detailed you can perceive vividly her inner confrontation of what society would expect her to feel with the relief and freedom she is experiencing.  I would strongly recommend reading this third person narration of a feminist and psychological drama.
