One idea I really liked in this chapter is the daily informal assessments. Its a great way for a teacher to know where the student is up to and how much knowledge was obtained in the lesson. Additionally, she can see if the subject learned needs to be reviewed or she can go on to the next topic. I also liked the idea that knowledge and learning is not just for taking an exam but also about empowering the student with the knowledge they are being taught. Daily assessments can include using a dry-erase board or an exit ticket.

1. Have the goals in front of you so you can refer to eat all the time.
2. Exit slip is a form of assessment to get an idea if the student acquired the lesson.
3.Be specific with grades not just an A or B.
4. Make sure to give a different grading for each domain, for example a for behavior and b for reading and c for effort etc.

I really liked the idea about having different grades for content knowledge ,social/behavioral skills, and effort. The idea of grades in general is to give us a snapshot where this student is holding as a whole. To give a student a single grade for just his reading comprehension will not necessarily give you an accurate picture of how much effort this student put in.
