         <description><![CDATA[<div>Script - Ainsley <br>Animation - Fei &amp; Henry<br>music - Cooper <br><br><strong>SCRIPT</strong><mark><br></mark>- this will be a voiceover on the animation video and will compliment what is on screen. Writing a <em>rough</em> outline of some ideas that will be addressed will assist in the construction of animation foundations. Then we can build it up together. <br>- Needs to accommodate room for us all to write our own personal pieces, so don't stress about what you don't know<br>- absolute <em>no need </em>to be anything close to professional at this point. Even dot points would be fine so we can figure out a final structure together&nbsp; <br>*NEW idea - We're going to talk about the Australian curriculum in terms of how it lacks truth and empathy towards the First Nations people that were murdered, taken away from their families, and ripped from their languages, traditions, cultures and identities. SPECIFICALLY, we will discuss our lack of awareness while in primary, middle and high school. We will use real evidence as well as our own experiences to say what we want to say. <br><br><strong>MUSIC<br>- </strong>look man this really up to you. You know what you're doing more than we do. <br>- try coming up with some vague ideas that kinda flow together into something cohesive and work together with the animation aspect later on to sync up. It'll be sweet trust me &lt;3 <br><br><strong>ANIMATION/STOP MOTION<br></strong>- We should probably throw together some loosely connected storyboard images. Like what we've already got (Thank you Fei!)&nbsp; to give us all an indication of how this thing is gonna turn out.<br>- Adding in time stamps will help Ainsley with writing a script&nbsp;<br>- Once we've got a really solid plan of what we need to create, we'll try coming into uni one day together to start making the stop motion. We can book out a room in the library or something and get books and paper and whatever we need. I know a book shop to get really old and awesome looking books for next to nothing.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Henry paragraph -<br>Growing up in a catholic primary school in white suburban Brisbane I had a pretty sheltered learning experience. Lots of things that I should have been taught were just ignored. Including our countries gruesome past. In primary school we spent probably a whole semester learning about Captain Cook and the first fleet and how they were “heroes” who came and “discovered” this land. My experience as the child of British immigrants was that I was really only told history that painted the coloniser’s in a positive light. And for a long time, I really drew on that British heritage of mine as a major part of my identity, and I took pride in that. It really wasn’t until high school when I started learning about the stolen generation and the absolute massacres that took place when that pride started to waiver and eventually crumble. Now every time I hear a story or just a mention of the horrors the Indigenous Australian people faced, I feel an instinctive shiver of guilt that goes up my spine. I know I nor my family is directly responsible, but I know that I will always be connected to the people who are.&nbsp; &nbsp;<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In primary school, I grew up in Southeast Queensland, and experienced the rare occasion of learning Australian history. The catch, however, was that it was about Captain Cook. My teachers left out the meat and bones of Australia’s colonisation. Captain Cook arrived and then apparently civilised Australia just conveniently existed after that.</div><div><br></div><div>In high school, I grew up in the NT, and despite absorbing multiple fragments of history, from Ancient Egypt to The Russian Revolution and more, I never once, in those six years, studied Australian history as a compulsorily segment of the curriculum. Therefore, I’ve had to educate myself on many historical contexts concerning colonial Australia since.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>Being an Australian-born citizen myself, I believe that no matter how ‘over-crowed’ the curriculum apparently is, there is no excuse for calculatedly repressing the reality and accuracy of historical contexts in relation to colonial Australia from its citizens.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>My primary school education was a great period In my life when I spent time developing my passions and knowledge which make me who I am now. I remember learning about Moreton Bay which I call home and how the different islands served as colonies for the first white settlers. I got to visit St Helena Island and learn its history as a prison for very serious criminals. It’s only now that I learn the islands true indigenous name Noogoon which the Nooghies tribe called home. It’s only now that I learn the island was named after an aboriginal man who was exiled there. We learnt of Matthew Flinders touching down at Coochiemudlo Island opening up the bay to convicts, soldiers and free settlers. It’s only now that I learn the struggles the Nooghie, Noonuccal, Goenpul and Quandamooka tribes faced and how their culture, traditional lands and hunting grounds progressively dissolved. It’s only now that I learn about the massacres, lack of respect and the exploitation by the various institutions through forced labour. It’s only now that I learn about the decades of deadly conflict between European settlers and Indigenous tribes and how aboriginals starving for food were rounded up and shot for trying to survive.</div>]]></description>
