This non-profit organization is based in the city and serves the community and surrounding cities. They provide one meal a day, five days a week, to anyone in need, and additional services are provided for the homeless. Hygiene kits and first-aid kits are distributed once a month to those that are homeless. Brawley Feed the Need food pantry provides food staples according to how a person can prepare meals. There are homeless food baskets, food baskets for those who only have a microwave and a small refrigerator (motel), and food baskets for individuals or families who have access to a stove. Also, once a week, Feed the Need gets a big donation from a supermarket, Vons, and gives donations to anyone in need of food assistance. (Nonprofit Organization | Brawley Feed the Need Inc | United States, n.d.)

The 6 weeks of seminar were very insightful into the career that i have been prospering. The first weeks of the seminar we learned about the importance of social worker. We were faced with challenges into critical thinking, peer discussions, and most importantly, the relevance of social work. The 6 weeks of seminar we learned about expectations and realities, roles and responsibilities, professional expectations, time management but most importantly we learned about social work values and ethics. We were faced with challenges and peer discussions in which we needed to be respectful, encouraging, and supporters to our peers. For myself, learning about managing expectations and realities were very important, we are often faced with what we believe and expect will happen however, when it does not happen the way we expect, it throws us off, it changes the way we react to a situation. Throughout the 5 weeks of seminars, ive learned how to prioritize and balance personal/family life while also recognizing in self care actions and behaviors. Through active role-playing, and active listening, we learned about the importance of community. We learned that through community we are provided with perspectives into viewing the social justice system, and civil right across all practices.
