The 50's were already a horrible time to live in especially for those who did not have white for their skin color. On January 20 1969 President Richard Nixon was elected after Kennedy was fatally killed. During his presidency he completely ignored the fact that African Americans were constantly fighting for their rights and hoping that Nixon can pass the Civil Rights Act.

Civil Rights Act 1964
