These assessments are expected to be available in the 2014-2015 school year. Most states have chosen to participate in one of the two consortia.

Great Padlet! Gives a lot of great information in an organized fashion. I liked the breakdown of why common core is important especially in the elementary school levels. I think common core is great for younger students to really think more in-depth about the topics they are learning about so they are more prepared for the future. I also find it great that common core standards make it easier to see the areas that students are struggling in. I love that you added a video about the other side of the argument. Makes you think from all sides of the argument and the pros and cons to the common core standards.

Hi ladies! Your padlet looks fantastic! I love the mixed media you posted, the videos, pictures and posts are all extremely informative and concise. I appreciate that you broke the comments up into different categories including assessments, grading, barriers, etc. I am hearing a lot of mixed reviews about CCSS at the schools I sub and teach at and it is nice to see clear unbiased facts about what CCSS actually is and what it means for students and the ways we will be teaching in the future. Personally, I am excited to come into this field right now with all of these changes so I can learn exactly what I need to know to teach CCSS the best ways I can for my future students. Thanks for your awesome padlet- it taught me a lot!!
