Aerobility - Virtual Aviation Experience

Aerobility are offering anyone aged 12 years+ who has a disability and lives in the UK a set of 3 virtual flying lessons free of charge. The Virtual Aviation Experience offers 3 x 60 minute interactive sessions between you and your instructor. On the course you will learn about the basics of flight, the effects of the controls of the aircraft, flying straight and level, climbing, descending, turning an aircraft safely and more! Welcome to our newest Member - Read Easy West Surrey & North East Hampshire

Read Easy West Surrey & North East Hampshire is affiliated to the national Ready Easy charity, and provides free, flexible and confidential coaching for adults who struggle to read. Each reader is offered 2 x 30 minute sessions a week with volunteer coaches, working through a specifically designed set of books. The group covers North East Hampshire and the neighbouring Surrey areas of Runymede, Surrey Heath, Waverley, Guildford and Woking. Meetings between readers and coaches take place in private spaces in public buildings (eg libraries). Typically, the coach/reader relationship can last between 9 months and 2 years depending on ability. More detail at this link

121 Counselling Training: New! Online Counselling Adolescents Diploma Course

Applications are now open for our Level 5 Diploma in Counselling Adolescents course running ONLINE from January 2024.

Session times: 9:00 – 13:00

Entrance Requirements: A minimum of Level 4 Diploma or equivalent in Counselling and 100 Counselling Hours

Hart Volunteer Thermal Imaging Scheme Launched

Hart Voluntary Action has come together with the Climate Change team at Hart District Council to launch a new volunteering opportunity to support Hart residents make their homes more energy efficient.

Earlier this year, Hart District Council offered Hart residents the opportunity to register their interest in a free thermal imaging visit to assess where heat is escaping from their homes. To date over 170 Hart residents have registered their interest from across the district. These visits will take place over the coming winter months.

Hart Voluntary Action’s role includes:

Recruiting a team of volunteers to carry out the thermal imaging visits. Training will be provided on using the thermal imaging cameras.
Co-ordinating thermal imaging visits with Hart residents who have registered their interest to match with volunteer availability.

New! Adult Carers' Support Service for Hampshire

Hampshire County Council has awarded the new contract for support services for unpaid carers aged 18+ to the Princess Royal Trust for Carers in Hampshire. The new service launched in September. The main areas of support are:

One-to-one help for carers in accessing support, benefits etc
Creating an individual Carer's Emergency Plan that can be activated at any point when required by the carer.

Christmas Wreath Workshops with Hart's Community Garden

Our popular Christmas Wreath Workshops are back! We have a number of dates between 28 November and 16 December to choose from and a choice of indoor venues or in the polytunnels at Hart's Community Garden in Edenbrook Country Park. All materials provided. Sew reusable menstrual pads for refugees & other vulnerable people around the world

The Pachamama Project is a charity growing a network of volunteers to sew reusable menstrual pads for refugees and vulnerable people around the world. Our mission is to relieve global period poverty, break down the menstrual stigma , promote sustainable periods and build community. We offer a zero-commitment volunteering opportunity to people sew from home or to create their own sewing groups. Anyone with some spare time and access to a sewing machine can participate. We also encourage schools and craft clubs to set up Pacha Clubs. Volunteers can be any age - as long as they can safely and competently use a sewing machine - and we welcome DofE students. Hart Foodbank: Delivery Drivers Wanted

Hart Foodbank is currently in need of Volunteer Duty Drivers. The responsibility includes collecting food parcels from the Foodbank Centres on Mondays and Thursdays, and providing a doorstep delivery to clients. They do not open on Bank Holidays. You will need to be physically able to carry packed shopping bags. A small amount of paperwork will be involved, and you must hold a valid, clean driving licence.
