He knows about the bible and poetry. He tells the group of students that there was once an husband and wife and that they could only love each other, and that the wife would have children. That means that there was also a mother and a father, and brothers and sisters. He also tells them about religion and that there was a god that people believed in and that there was a so called heaven that people went to when they died. Then he talks to them about politics and that there used to be a system called democracy. After that he tells them something about the wars that have been going on and that outcome they had. And of course he tells them about the Ford T-Model and that it opened up a new era for society. 

1) Lenina Crowne and Fanny Crowne: These two are sisters, which is not really a suprise, because they are workers, so they have a lot of siblings. Fanny tells Lenina that she is not feeling well and that she has to take medicine so that she does not get pregnant. Lenina does not need to take the medicin because she is a freemartin, which means that she does not have a uterus. Then they switch the subject. Fanny asks Lenina if she is going out with anyone and Lenina says yes. After asking Lenina with whom she is going out, Fanny is surprised that she is going out with Herny Foster again. After discussing that Lenina is not only supposed to have one partner, Lenina says that she quite likes Bernard Marx. Fanny says that somebody messed up when he was still in the bottle. After discussing Leninas love life, they talked aoubt clothes.

2) Henry Foster, Assistant Predestinator and Bernard Marx: Henry and the Assistant are discussing if Lenina is a good partner to have. Bernard accdentally heard what they are saying and turns pale. Bernard is shoked that they talk about her like that and talk about her like she is meat. Bernard reall does not like the other two. Then Henry starts talking abot Fanny and sais that she is not as good looking as Lenina. Bernard comes to the conclusion that the girls also think of themselves as meat. After Henry and the Assistant notices that Bernard is listening they make fun of him so that he walks away. 

4) Voice hypnopaedia: The voice ist telling them about the futur industrial supply and that it is better to throw way the old clothes, and get new clothes.   • After her shift, Lenina Crowne goes to the girls' dressing room to take a shower when she meets Fanny Crowne. She tells Lenina that the doctors advised her to have a pregnancy substitute, which simulates the hormonal effects of a pregnancy, at the age of 19 because she is not feeling well lately. When they are talking about whether they are going out this night, Fanny is surprised that Lenina is still going out with Henry Foster and that she is not having anybody else. Lenina admits that she is interested in Bernard Marx who is an Alpha Plus and invited her to visit a Savage Reservation. Fanny makes clear that he has a bad reputation but Lenina does not care and tells her that she is going to accept his invitation. At the end of the conversation both are talking about Lenina's outfit she is wearing.

  • At the end of the workday, Bernard Marx hears Henry Foster and the Assistant Director of Predestination talking about Lenina Crowne. While discussing the woman Henry says that he is surprised that the Assistant have not had her yet. Bernard, who hates them and is disgusted joins the conversation by saying that they are not allowed to talk about her like that. Henry offers Bernard a medicine called soma because he looks depressed but he just walks away swearing about them. 

  • While the Director and the students continue their tour through the company, the controller Mustapha Mond appears to teach the students about the history and why they have not learned anything about it yet. There are rumors that he has forbidden books like the bible hidden. He describes the life before the World State, tells them about love and families and that there was no cloning. Mond describes this society as unstable because people were neither conditioned nor happy. The instability was also caused by emotions, romance and desire. At the end the controller says that after the Nine Years' War, where chemical warfare was used, they chose the date of the introduction of the Model T to start a new era without religion, families or books. 

  • After the Elementary Class Consciousness, voices start whispering about the future industrial supply. They tell the children to love flying and having new clothes. Furthermore the voices repeat that it is better to throw away old clothes than to fix them.

Fanny tells her about the Pregnancy Substitute she started to take because she feels "out of sorts". The Pregnancy Substitute emulates the hormonal effects of pregnancy. After four months Lenina is still exclusively dating  Henry Foster, which has Fanny surprised, she thinks that Lenina should be more promiscous. Lenina mentions the invitation she received from Alpha Plus hypnopaedia specialist Bernhard Marx. The invitation is for the Savage Reservation. Fanny advises Lenina to stay off him because  off his substandard reputation, his tendency to spend time alone and because his smaller and less confident than the usual Alpha. Lenina though disregards everything said by Fanny and tells her that he is going to accept his invitation. At the end they talk about the outfit Lenina is wearing.


    2) Henry Foster, Assistant Predestinator and Bernhard Marx: Henry Foster and the Assistant are talking about Lenina in the mens´ dressing room. Bernhard accidentally overhears that conversation and turns pale. The way these two talk about her really disgusts him. After that Henry claims that Fanny is not as pretty as Lenina and that her breasts are smaller than hers. Then the Assistant notices Bernhards glum expression so he and Henry decide to unnerve him. Their attemps to infuriate him are successful and they are very entertained by Bernhard´s rage.


    3) Controller: The Controller starts off his speech by quoting Henry Ford, saying "History is bunk". He uses this quote to explain the students why they haven´t learned  any of the history that the director explains to them. He posseses the bible and multiple pieces of poetry locked in a safe. Then Mustapha Mond goes ahead and describes the  time before the World State took control over reproduction. He uses water under pressure in a pipe as metaphor to illustrate strong emotion and the desire to become sexually active. According to Mond strong emotion are a danger towards stability and without stability civilization would cease to exist. Before the takeover of the World State, instability caused by strong emotion led to disease,war and social injustice. After that he mentions the Nine Years´ War which brought a lot of grief to to the world. So as a consequence every book published before A.F 150 was banned. The release date of the Model T  marked the start of a new era.

    4) Voice hypnopaedia: Once Elementary Class Conciousness is over an unknown voice is telling them about future industrial supply. The voice advises them to get rid of old clothes to purchase new clothes.     2)Henry Foster, Assistant Predestinator, Bernard Marx: Bernard Marx noticed how Henry Foster and the Assistant Predestinator are talking about Lenina Crowne. He is shocked when he hears that Henry encourages the Assistant Predestinator to go out with Lenina and promotes her as wonderfully pneumatic. Then Henry offers Bernard some Soma, the drug that is used in the society when somebody feels sad and is not happy. But Bernard do not want to take ist and leaves Henry alone.

    3)Controller: When the director Shows his students the garden, where a lot of little boys and girls were running and playing, the fordship Mustapha Mond, the Resident Controller for Western Europe appears. He stayed to explain the system of the society to the students and after that he talks about the history and tells the students why they do not have to learn anything about history. He begins with saying that history is bunk. He owns old books and also a bible although reading such things is forbidden. He explains the students what families and parents are and what a home is. He talks about religion and how the life was before the World State was introduced, reffering to politics, social life and the Nine Years' War. The Nine Years' War was the reason why it was necessary to decide between destruction or world control. Now the central idea of the Brave New World is stability, he explains.

Lenina agrees with her and suggests Bernard Marx who Fanny thinks is not good enough because he looks like a Gamma although he is an Alpha Plus, but Lenina does not care.

    3) Henry Foster, Bernard Marx & Assistant Predistinator: Henry, Bernard and the Assistant Predistinator meet in the changing room. Henry and the Assistant Predistinator talk about what they are going to do this evening while Bernard makes fun of them. They talk about who they have in the moment. Henry has Lenina and Bernard is very angry about how they talk about her. Henry recommends her to the Assistant what makes Bernard even more angry. Henry and the Assistant offer Bernard some soma which he denies.

    2) Boys talk: Meanwhile Bernard Marx is in the Alpha Changing Room listening to Henry Foster and the Assistant Predestinator talk about Lenina Crowne. Henry is telling the Assistant Predestinator that he should date Lenina because she is fun to be with. This makes Bernard very angry. He feels that they are talking about Lenina as if she were a piece of meat. He is also anxious to hear Lenina´s answer as to whether she will go to the Savage Reservation with him. Because Bernard is talking about Lenina, Henry and the Assistant Predestinator decide to tease him by telling him that he Needs a gramme of Soma. 

    3) Mustafha Mond: The students are suprised by meeting Mond, the Resident Controller for Western Europe, andone of only ten World Controllers. Mond quotes Ford, tells, "History is bunk" in order to explain why students have not learned any of the history that the Director explains to them. Mond beginns zo describe life in the time before the World State beganits policy of tight control over reproduction, childrearing, and social relations. Strong emotion, inspired by family relationships, sexual repression, and delayed satisfaction of desire, goes against stability. Without stabiity, civilization can not exist. Mond also describes the initial resistance to the World State´s use of hypnopaedia, the caste system, and artifical gestation. But after the Nine Years´ War, whicch involved horrible chemical and biological warfare, including the supperssion of all books published before the time, began to weaken the resistance.

Fanny is surprised and advices Lenina to not spend so much time with only one man but instead have someone else every now and then. She later says that's everyone belongs to everyone else to which Lenina agrees. Lenina continues by telling Fanny about Bernard Marx, who is an Alpha Plus, and that she is going to accept his invitation.

    3)Henry Foster, the Assistant Predestinator and Bernard Marx:
    On their way to the changing rooms, Henry Foster and the Assistant Predestinator turn their backs on Bernard Marx. When they get to the changing rooms, the Assistant Predestinator tells Henry Foster about the new Feelies (cinema with 'feeling' equipment) in Alhambra. They continue by talking about Lenina Crowne and Henry Foster advices the Assistant Predestinator to try her because everyone belongs to everyone else. Next, the Assistant Predestinator mentions Fanny Crowne as well. Bernard Marx gets really angry about the way they talk about Lenina because he asked her out and is still waiting for her answer. Henry Foster and the Assistand Predestinator notice his unhappy face and decide to annoy him.

    3.Controller: During the tour with the students, the controller, called Mustapha Mond appears. He is the Resident Controller for Western Europe. He explains, some facts about history and the reasons why they have not learned anything about it yet. He talks about the difference between today's world and the world in the past and he mention that the old system, was not working very well. After the 9 years war, they introduce the world from nowadays, including cloning, and the entire control about the people, to creates stability. They also forbid all the aspects, that could disturb or endanger the system.

    In the conversation between Mr. Foster and the A.D.P. the characters objectify woman. Bernard Marx does not agree with that and he gets angry. The other men start to provoke him with offering him the drug "soma"

    The woman are in the girls' dressing room and talk about men, especially about Henry Foster, the men Lenina has been seeing for longer than she was supposed to. The reader can learn that woman in this society get pregnancy substitutes at the age of 21 and also have to take a lot of intravenous on a regular basis. It turns out that Lenina likes Bernard as well as he likes her even tough he has a bad reputation.
