Advantages over Google docs are unlimited storage space, locally hosted group accounts for sharing of class assignments, and a mobile client app allowing photos and movies to be uploaded from ipads and android clients.

The server software, Mac and Windows clients are free while the mobile app is 49 cents per client.

It also does a pretty good job of converting .pdf to .doc
