After a day of walking on foot we find a dirty pond. Lennie immediately scoops up handfuls of water and drinks. I should reprimand him for drinking out of such a polluted reservoir but I'm just as thirsty as he is. We stayed by the pond that night. We decided not to light a fire because Bangladesh is, well, hot. Hotter than Myanmar anyway. Me and Lennie talked and finished the last of our Mohinga. As I finish my soup, the damage left in the wake of the gunfire back home flashes in my mind. The combination of crying, screaming, begging and the silence that always came in the end was all too much. I closed my eyes and instantly sank into a deep, disturbed slumber.

i am so scared. i don't know what just happened. it all just happened so fast, i was told to just bring a few things and that we both were going on a boat to Bangladesh. not sure where in Bangladesh but we may be going to cox's bazar or something know a thing or two about Bangladesh because they are one of the closest countries from ours. Im in the cabin of our boat now and just a little relived because i know i am with all my relatives and family but i am worried about the fact of not having enough Money, Food or even where we will be living. I just hope Bangladesh helps us enough to keep us living and supply us with proper treatments and food

My name is George. Today I crossed the border using a boat. I did not want to run away but, I was forced to leave Myanmar. Me and Lennie dream to get basic human rights and get our citizenship back one day, so we can go back home. Currently I am in Bangladesh, a neighbouring country. I am a refugee who lives in a refugee camp in Cox's Bazar.

My name is George. Currently we're running from Myanmar by crossing the border. We're trying to get to Bangladesh so we can start our dream of owning our own farmland. We were crossing some kind of body of water, possibly a river. We were aiming to go to the North of Bengal possibly this place named Rangpur. My companion is this guy named Lennie. He's really dumb and I could do with so much better but at times like this we have to stick together.

Us Rohingyas, we don't get any food, water, education, even citizenship in Myanmar. We get killed, slaughtered. No one cares about us, except Bangladesh. We're all moving to Bangladesh by boat, by foot and any form of transportation that we can use. No one understands what we have to go through. I've been traveling for a day now and it is already tough. Yesterday I woke up to screaming and yelling. I went outside and people were being killed so I ran for my life. I found the nearest boat and I went on board. I was with complete strangers, I've never seen them before! There was nothing else to do, everyone was doing whatever they could to escape and here I am now, walking through the muddy paths in Bangladesh, waiting to find shelter. Dreaming won't do any good, all we can do is keep running.

I'm leaving home, the only place I could ever think of. They're burning everything, and I didn't know what to do. So I ran, with my son by my side. We ran to the nearest boat leading to Coxs Bazar. We took whatever we could and stored it in the boat and we took off. And on our way my son was asking for ketchup with our beans, and I was frustrated! I was yelling at him, and then I saw that he was getting hurt so I apologized. You see, we're very different from each other. He is a child, and he is very immature. I guess that's normal for an oversized 7 year old. His name is Lennie, and I am George. We are now crossing the border and leaving everything behind. The only thing we can think of is saving ourselves.

Every morning I say to myself, One day we will get the rights that we deserve, but will it ever become reality? Am I just Dreaming? Even if there is only one percent chance that we'll get the rightful citizenship of Burma, I will take it. I believe there should be true equality between us, and the buddhist of Myanmar. We shouldn't get excluded just because our ancestors aren't originally from Burma, or because of our cultural differences. That is what i used to believe, but now i only have hatred towards the government and citizens of Burma. I witnessed my best friend, Lennie, getting killed by those militaries and at the same time, i also witnessed the buddhist citizens raping my fiance, Jessica, when i was helpless. After I reached at the refugee camp located at the border near Cox's Bazaar , I made up my mind of exacting revenge from both the Myanmar Government and the military as well as the citizens which is why i decided to join a group of armed rebels named "Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA)". I shall not stop until I finally get my revenge on them. This is war!
