Ms. Knighton: After reading chapter 1, do you think the school’s rigid policies
(stifling all students from eating and talking at school, wearing gray uniforms,
and branding student I.D. numbers on their arms) are justifiable?

I think that the school's rigid policies are not justifiable because is sounds like the school is very controlling and that they are suffocating the students with their rules. It also sounds like they are making sure that the students can't express themselves by forcing them to wear gray uniforms and by I.D.-ing their skin.

After reading chapter 1 I do not think the school's rigid policies (stifling all students from eating and talking at school, wearing gray uniforms, and branding student I.D. numbers on their arms) are justifiable because the school has taken it to another level to control the students. The Mayor and the Enforcers only are doing these things to make sure the children stay obedient to their rules. So they only reason why the school's rigid policies are occuring is to keep the children where they want them, which is not justifiable.

I do not believe the school's rigid and tedious policies are justifiable. School was created to aid the education and prosperity of human kind, not as a prison for children, in which they have no rights. Not even being allowed to speak in school, already, violates The First Amendment itself. The uniform policy, however, is completely justifiable, as it assures order and eliminates conflict and competition with clothing. The I.D. numbers on the children's arm, is not. This act indirectly violates The Fourth Amendment, by allowing unwarranted "seizures". To conclude, these policies enforced by the school are, for the most part, unjustifiable.

I think the school's rigid policies are not justifiable because the school is very contolling. Also, the students are forced to follow the rules by not talking during school. The students are also not able to dress how they want to dress and have to wear a tattoo to identify them. This system is as if they are being controlled and basically the people are controlling their lives and living their lives

I think the school's rigid policies are not justifiable because the children have no freedom. The children are being imprisoned in my perspective. They can't speak, which breaks the First Amendment,Freedom to Speech. They wear gray uniforms which is not bad. They have these student I.D. numbers which gives children no free-way. The children have no character because of these eliminations and rules. So, no the policies aren't justifiable.

No school should be able to do things to another student so vile. They make their kids concerned to do good in schoolbut in the wrong way by taking away privielges for as long as they like.Almost replacing parents for much more worser ones.Freedom is almost never allowed in the school.Except for lunch which again the teachers can take away. The grey uniforms the students wear, seems to me references jail clothing .despite the color difference.NO,police at the school are not reasonable.

i dont think the schools policies are justifiable. they take advantage of the kids and the privileges their suppose to have. the uniform, not being able to talk and not having freedom seems wrong to me. i think the mayor and enforcers just want power. like the book anthem we read in critical thinking. the mayor just wants to stay in control. its not fair to the children that they have to be and act a certain way.

I think the schools rigid policies are not justifiable because they restrict the children to nothing. The children cannot talk, or have any social contact within the school walls. If the kids are caught talking they get in a lot of trouble. The schools mine as well be there parents because of how the school looks after them, from making them wear the same uniforms everyday to branding ID's on there arms.
