One aspect that would make an ideal class is if the students walk away with a new skill they can implement toward their passions.

For me in regards to GE classes in particular: One attribute of an ideal class is when you see a student break out of their quiet and withdrawn disposition and exhibit some unbridled enthusiasm for their project.

When students connect what they're learning to their larger goals or can take a step toward recognizing what those goals even are.

When everyone feels seen and of value to the collective of the class... all motivated, interested and that they specifically are adding value to the class as well as them feeling like they're 'getting it' and addicted to what they're doing/how they do it and that they want to do more of it.
