The first stage is where the 3 boosters go at full thrust with their 9 merlin engines each.
In the second stage, the rocket detaches the side boosters and the boosters return to earth. Next you have the Grid Fins, they make the rocket go a certain direction during launch. After that you have the boosters, they have one core engine with 9 merlin engines surrounding the core.
