"Chilled the very marrow in my bones."
The narrative technique of this sentence is imagery as the author trying to get us to picture the story and what is happening in extreme detail, thus the use of the word "the very". The author also went into more detail in that sentence and could have left our the word "marrow" but did not as he wanted the book to be as detailed as possible. (Jayden Briggs)

Yes, it was this- he had an eye of a vulture- a pale blue eye with a film over it"
When the narrator showed told us the description he made us imagine we were there and he also made/helped us understand what the eye looks like that the narrator was so afraid of and so he repeated the description and the hatred for the eye over and over to describe what he saw and to really show his fear

"Upon the eighth night I was more than usually cautious in opening the door." And "...and he not even to dream of my secret deeds or thoughts."
This sentence shows foreshadowing as to what he was going to do to the old man, slowly making his way in, he was going to kill him, and the old man would be oblivious to it. This is also an example of dramatic irony.

(Page 89)
The Narrative Technique is leaving the reader in the dark. I know this because in the book in the first page and first paragraph. "True!—nervous—very, very dreadfully nervous I had been and am! but why will you say that I am mad? The disease had sharpened my senses—not destroyed—not dulled them. Above all was the sense of hearing acute. I heard all things in the heaven and in the earth. I heard many things in hell. How, then, am I mad? Hearken! and observe how healthily—how calmly I can tell you the whole story." We don't know much about the narrator or what is happening. Which leaves us wondering what is going to happen and what is happening.
