The article talks about the horrors of GMO foods, foods that are farmed and sold to us on the market. GMO stands for Genetically modified food, meaning that our farm food is seasoned with pesticides  and also re-created by chemist in chemical labs for faster production.We should care about GMO because it is unsafe and we need to understand what goes into our bodies! Back in the 1900's watermelons use to be juicy and sweet! Nowadays our fruits and vegetables aren't grown the right way and we must suffer the loss of the taste and enjoyment.

This article is about the eight- month long Standing Rock protest in Dakota, against the Dakota Access Oil Pipeline. Told through the experience of Rev. John Dear he shared a reason why this was important. By digging there the Missouri River to build this pipeline will damage  the drinking water and destroy a prayer spot for the Naive people living there. Which should make the Dakota Access want to stop their plan, I found it interesting that they haven't. And will continue to go on with the pipeline, after (1) It's said to poison the drinking water and (2) Our last great president administrations told the Army Crops not to issue the permit for digging under the river.  The reason, why we should read this article is to educate ourselves, and step outside of our own lives and see what hardships other people go though in our "Great America".

The article entitled “Having a home computer benefits students socially, but not academically” discusses the various impacts of technology on the lives of students between 2008 and 2010. As the article states, “what was true in 2009 is not necessarily true today” the researchers Robert Fairlie and Jonathan Robinson found that the lack of a home computer isn’t so much of a bad thing. This was quite interesting to observe based on my tendency to not use my mother’s laptop unless under dire circumstances. It provided me with my own sense of reassurance, but it also opened up many questions as to how this would actually impact low-income families today. For example, how would this student get home from school if they had to miss the bus to stay after school in the school library? What if they couldn’t walk home because they lived too far away? What if the assignment was a project and required lots of time? Is this beneficial? Would it breed a more time efficient and intelligent student or just a lot of missed assignments?
