this book is told from the perspective of a little girl in auschwitz. she lives in block 31, but its much more than a block. behind the ss backs, its a school. she ends up playing an important roll in the block. she manages to be the librarian, for not only the block, but for the whole camp. she risks her family life, and hers just for some books. runs around in secret and does a job no one else would dare to do.but she has a dilima. she doesnt think she can trust the teacher that set up the library. he is a shady guy, and she has caught him hanging out with ss members. so is it a trap or not.
