This Ted talk show, talks about how AI has become the center of technology today and how it has dwarfed all power

of all other technologies combined. This reason being because intelligence is the basic of all scientific and technological progress. Thereby resulting in more funding in AI and other technologies.

However the main purpose of this conversation is to fully inform the public of the dangers in regards to the advancement of this rapidly growing AI and the possible action to be taken on an individual basis in exploring a better path for a better future.

Harris states that, applied for good, AI

could bring about a world of truly unimaginable abundance,

because suddenly, Because this artificial intelligence brings about an explosions of benefits. And we're already seeing many of these benefits land in our society

from new antibiotics, new drugs, new materials.

And this is the possible of AI.

Tristan Harris further explains that for the first time in human history we're currently releasing the most powerful, inscrutable,

uncontrollable technology we've ever invented that's already demonstrating behaviors of self-preservation and deception that we only saw in science fiction movies.

And it being released faster than we've released any other technology in history,

and with under the maximum incentive to cut corners on safety.

This concern is giving a picture of an unpredictable future outcome that could be disastrous to the human race.

A BALANCE AND WAY FORWARD

"So if this is crazy, why are we doing it?" The question Harris points out. For acknowledging a problem brings clarity, And so clarity creates agency. If we can be crystal clear, we can choose another path, a better one. Just like the ozone hole in spite of it looking inevitable, was recognized as a problem and was solved.

This Ted conversation encourages humanity not to fall into the trap of hopelessness or thinking maybe the superintelligence will magically figure it out, rather to take our role as individuals in this and to be part of the collective immune system of a solution.

AI is humanity's ultimate test

and greatest invitation to step into our technological maturity and believe another choice is possible!
