My name is Justine Quiralte-Reyes. I am A Music Education Instrumental Major in my third year at Stan State. I've always really enjoyed music and band as well as teaching it. I hope to become a teacher for either middle school or high school. My main instruments are Tuba and Drum set. Sustainability is a pretty interesting topic. I don't know too much about it but to me it's making something fit our personal needs without putting anything at risk for future needs. Information Literacy is a new term for me but using context clues and putting both words meanings together I assume it means to learn and write about specific information of things. Especially in recent time due to Covid this situation has most likely spiraled. The author's purpose was to explain how difficult covid has been for undocumented essential workers. The author does this quite effectively through exemplification. They share many different stories with us from workers who have suffered through this cause. An example would be Remigio Ramirez a 54 year old maintenance who talked to his and explained to him how he wasn't feeling well and was told to keep working since they were short staffed. He had con tracked Covid 19 and even spread it to his wife and daughters. The author takes these stories and really leans into the Pathos rhetorical device and hits us in the heartstrings. It's such an important topic to learn about and needs to be a conversation that keeps happening. Research Question: Is acquiring necessities during this time of month more difficult for minority groups than non minority groups?
What my audience knows: My audience already knows about the basics of what is needed for someone during this time as well as how it has increased during Covid 19.
What questions I have: I really want to know if it is harder for people of color to obtain these types of things such as menstrual pads of tampons. What was difficult about the reading process: I think finding a piece that really worked well for my topic along with focusing on it in general was hardest for me.
What helped: Honestly for me I put some classical music on as it allowed me to focus without getting distracted and not working in silence.
