This short story talks about the theme of exploration. In this story, we follow Gan through his life with the Tlic and tryin g to run away from them. He goes outside the sanctuary and realizes it is way different than in the preserve. There are other aliens who realized the Tlics are a nuisance. and kept them in the preerve with the terrans.

Gan, a human who has known T'Gatoi from childhood, views her as a protector. Though he is morally soun and compassionate, he struggles with his place in the Tlic's life cycle. As he learns more about the Tlic's motivations, his drive changes from acceptance to questioning.

T'Gatoi is a Tlic of great rank who really loves Gan but also stands for the Tlic's authoritative predatory attitude toward humans. Despite her intelligence, persuasiveness, and compassion, she is motivated by the survival needs of her species, which frequently conflict with human autonomy.

Plot Point 1: Exposition

The exposition of the sequel would be when T'Gatoi implants the larvae in Gan. T'Gatoi made sure the implantation went very good so that hopefully he can continue to use him and his grandchildren for later implantations.

Plot point 2: Rising Action

As Gan goes on with life he finds the pain to be unbearable of the larvae. The moment comes where T'Gatoi has to cut open Gan. This process was unbearably painful and Gan almost died. However, a couple months after surviving T'Gatoi asks Gan if he can use one of her children for implantation. Gan says yes in fear that T'Gatoi will hurt him or that She will leave him and other Aliens will take advantage of them. Gan gives birth to other humans and they are twin boys. 15 years goes by undisturbed until the time comes where she has to pick which one is a hostess.

Plot Point 3: Climax

The climax of the story would be when Gan cannot choose who will be a hostess. Her children are Ricky and Rob. She tells T'Gatoi that she can use Rob because he is slightly bigger. However, she has other plans and in the middle of the night she plans to murder T'Gatoi by using a rifle. Gan leaves her home with her kids and does not come back. She leaves the sanctuary with her rifle and comes across a cave where there are other terrans who have escaped. The terrans are then found by Aliens and the Aliens all use the terrans for breeding. It is a repeated process of implanting and giving birth for 5 years until Gan escapes by himself because his children and wife have died.

Plot Point 4: Falling Action and Climax

The falling action would be when he runs away and settles in his underground house that he built outside the preserve. Everyday he would search for his wife and kids and just when he was about to give up he sees He survives off the land and one day he sees a women wandering and he goes to check on her. He finds out it his is wife and is overjoyed. He does not know how she escaped because he thought she died. Outide the preserve it is a whole different world and the Tlics are stuck in the preserve with humans and they are just as helpess as the humans. He then lives in a community with new aliens called the T'honk which can symbiotically breed with humans painlessly and in a similar way as humans breed with other humans.
