This book is about a thirteen year old boy called Samuel trying to stay out from danger in the woods. While trying to go to the British headquarter to save his parent. His parent had been capture as prison by the army because the a bloody war had came. That was the Revolutionary war, you can read the story and learn about the war. At the same time because in every chapter there are background information about the war so you will understand everything. I think this is a great book because it tells you so much about people in the revolutionary war including a lot of detail in their life. It also help you understand the war better because it's a very difficult perspective to write this book. This book doesn't have a lot of action in it, and everything is calm. However it really describe the characters and their feelings very well.
