This means that:
1cm on paper = 700cm in real life
Therefore, 1cm on paper = 7m in real life.

To scale an object to a smaller size, you simply divide each dimension by the required scale factor. 

If the length is in centimetres (cm) - divide the real-life length by 700 to work out the length in cm of the object in the Google Drawing.

I've just finished researching how big our roads need to be! 

An average Australian lane is 3.5m wide. For the purpose of this project, all roads will use a lane width of 3.5m, therefore a 2 lane street must be 7m wide. If you wish to add parking, or additional lanes for cars to drive on, add additional widths of 3.5m.

Obviously in real life roads will vary in width and this can occur on your map but you need to ensure that the team members adjacent to you agree to this. The population of the tiny town is 1000 people. This means we need to plan to have enough houses for the people in this town, therefore each team must provide sufficient housing. 
I think we need to aim to make each block approximately 500m2. 
Working out the maths, each cell is required to have an average of 15 houses to ensure we have enough people in our tiny town. Obviously the cells with large features e.g. school, leisure centre, parks etc. will not be able to fit this many houses in their cell. They will need to liaise with their team members to ensure between their group, they are providing enough housing for the town. Cells without community features will easily fit more than 15 houses. 

The town is too small to fund a police station/fire station or hospital, however a doctors/medical centre would be a great addition to our tiny town. Campbeltown Hospital is only a 14 minute drive away. 

Ideas we could include in our tiny town:
- Medical Centre/doctors 
- Service Station 
- River walk
- Playground/outdoor gym equipment near the river?
- Leisure centre - also include other sports courts/indoor gym/indoor pool?
- Childcare (clever planning would have this near the school)
- Corner store 
- Shopping centre with newsagent, groceries, chemist, $2 store/general store
- Community Hall/Centre (clever planning would also have this near the school)
- Soccer fields (clever planning would have this near the skate park)
- Cafes/restaurants/family style pub

B4 - Open space along both sides of the river. This could include a riverwalk/bicycle track, picnic areas, public BBQs, public bathrooms, bridge over the water etc. You will notice there is a bridge over the water in C4. Communicate with Team 7 to extend your riverwalk/bike track.
You can not put bowling/laser tag/other arcade games near here as it will cause too much noise, and there will be no room for houses. 
B5 - Shopping Village - think food and essentials for example a small supermarket (e.g. small Woolworths or IGA), fruit/veg store, take away food/fish and chip shop, small restaurant, chemist, bakery etc. Think about smaller independent stores.  Make sure there is enough parking. 
Please note: There is a shopping strip in Team 1 (A2/A3) which will include small, niche shops along the road e.g. charity shops, small clothing stores, gift stores etc.
