Born as the only child of the current cabinet's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yunho grew up without feeling the warmth of his parents. His father, before becoming the Minister, was a diplomat and politician; while his mother was busy handling her cruise lines empire and several massive luxury malls in Korea, Dubai, Singapore, and Las Vegas. Yunho tried his best to make them show affection to him, not just giving him tons of money, but even when he did his best in basketball, even winning the national championship, his parents never once congratulated him, resulting in his slightly rebellious personality.

Since both of his parents were coming from an old money family, Yunho had been told to act as a perfect son who one day would inherit the family business. So he should never tarnish his family name. But the lack of love from his parents made him think that it wouldn't matter if he caused some trouble, or maybe it would be a good chance for him to get their attention.

Enrolling in Cheongdam University was not Yunho's decision, nor the major he's currently studying. It was to fulfill his father's order after he was caught in a street race. Yunho agreed but with a condition that he would still be allowed to play Basketball, as it was one of the things that made him happy; and that he still allowed to take one of his motorcycles to the dorm with him.

To most people, Yunho seemed like a good-mannered, kind, and warm person. He doesn't like conflicts, for it just gives him a lot of headaches. But even though he was an easygoing person, Yunho didn't like to make meaningless small talk; every conversation had to have its value, one of the lessons his grandfather, who was an Oil company tycoon, taught him when Yunho was little.

During his free time, Yunho could be considered as an adrenaline junkie. He often spends his time doing extreme sports like skydiving, bungee jumping, diving, and car racing. When asked why he chose to do those activities, his answer was simply just for him to feel alive.

He also has a pet called, Plus, a golden retriever dog.
