On September 11, 2001, multiple terrorist attacks were carried out by the extremist paramilitary organization. It was a monumental day in history. 19 Al-Qaeda militants hijacked four airplanes and carried out suicide attacks against different targets in the United States. Al-Qaeda hates the US, because they see America as bossy an also because Americans are not Muslims. So, they wanted to punish America for this.

The first attack was on the World Trade Center, where two hijacked passenger jets crashed into the iconic twin towers. Secondly, a hijacked aircraft crashed into the Pentagon. Lastly, there was another hijacked passenger jet. The passengers aboard tried to regain control of the plane, but eventually it crashed into a field. At first people thought it might have happened because something happened with the pilot or the plane crashed because of the weather.

The attacks had a lasting impact on various domains. Firstly, it had a big impact on racism and discrimination in America. Even Trump came with a ‘zero tolerance’ policy towards undocumented migrants. They thought immigration issues should be separated from criminal enforcement. Innocent Muslims suffered from an increasing hate after the attacks. People without even a history of criminal activities were also hated and treated badly. So, it eventually fuelled tensions towards Muslim Americans.

Besides this, it heightened the surveillance measures. The US national security have directly spied into servers like Facebook and Google to track online communication. It was even leaked into the media that US spy agencies has built an ‘intelligence gathering colossus’. This is a computer that can decode secret messages. Over all, the whole security has increased a lot in America.

Lastly, it also had a significant psychological impact. The attacks led to an increased anxiety, fear and even PTSD among survivors and first responders.

The Statue of Liberty is one of the most famous landmarks worldwide. It is much more than a tourist attraction. It holds a significant symbolic value for the independence of the United States. It carries a lot of history with it.

In the late 18th century, the U.S. consisted of thirteen English colonies in North America. The English government raised taxes on them. The Americans didn't want this and they also sought autonomy over their land, so eventually they revolted. After the War of Independence, the U.S. officially became independent. European countries, especially France, admired the events unfolding in the U.S. In the 19th century, France came up with the idea to give a statue to the U.S. They gave this in honor of the 100th anniversary of independence. It also was a sign of friendship between France and the U.S. The statue was transported to America by 214 crates. In 1886, the statue was inaugurated.

The statue is a powerful sign for freedom, democracy and diversity, for both Americans and immigrants worldwide. It also has a cultural impact on America as it symbolizes the national pride and immigration in America. Overall, it has become an iconic representation of America's history.

The life of Araminta Ross (Harriet Tubman)

Araminta Ross was a remarkable African American abolitionist, born in 1822. She was born into slavery, in Maryland, where she worked on a plantation. When she was around 13 years old, an overseer accidentally threw a heavy metal weight on her, which caused serious head injury. She got narcolepsy, which causes her to fall unconscious at unpredictable times. Because of this, buyers were no longer interested in her as a slave. As a result, she was put to work with her father, Ben Ross. This eventually got her in touch with John Tubman, who she married in 1844. After this, she changed her name to Harriet.

There was spoken about an underground railroad to escape, but people were scared to go there, because it was dangerous. One day, Harriet got into a sleeping spell, where she got the courage to go on her own. Then, in 1850, she embarked on one of the most daring rescue missions in history and finally escaped from slavery.

After her escape, she returned 13 times to free her niece, brothers, parents and many others. Instead of fleeing to freedom and leaving the others behind, she returned back again and again to save other enslaved people. She made dangerous journeys into the heart of slave territory to save the other enslaved people and risked everything to save them. She was the first woman that lead a armed attack, which had a remarkable influence later on.

After this, she continued doing missions, like serving as a spy, nursing for the Union Army, leading a raid that liberated over 700 enslaved people and fighting for woman’s rights, which had a great impact on humanitarianism. Also, she symbolizes courage. All her contributions shaped the history and her impact still lives on.
