Sindiwe Magona also addresses culture by showing the importance of trust and during the post -apartheid era, black people valued trust more than anything and completely trusted each other ,so in the short story the murder of Masondo who is Sisipho’s husband shows how much black people value and trust and how they will react when their trust is betrayed ,this explains Masondo’s murder ,he was murdered by his comrades because he betrayed their trust .In the black society’s culture ,being betrayed by one of our own can’t simply be forgiven or forgotten. Culture is also expressed in the short story when the pastor offered to hold the funeral of the doctor ,this shows the importance of having a pastor in a funeral ,a pastor provides emotional and spiritual support to those in mourning and help's them to find a sense of closure during a difficult time and a pastor acts as a link between the ancestors of the family and the family of the deceased.

This is how culture is addressed and how our society perceives the world and how our culture is transmitted from generation to generation ,this short story describes this best by using post- apartheid era as a way to explore culture and show how black people haven’t changed much from back in apartheid 

The best way to teach the Gentlemen of the Jungle would be to use comics. Then the learners will dramatize the story, in that way they will get an idea of how gender is addressed in the short story. The students will then discuss how they perceive gender.

The best way to teach the language in ‘’WHO’S IRISH’’, is to read the book out loud and have the learners to point out errors in the text. Then after correct the errors from the story, have the learners write longer transactional text with correct spelling and well construction of sentences.

 We can teach culture by having students discuss the significance of cultural values presented in the story. Students could explore parallels between the cultural values presented in the story and their own personal beliefs, and explore how cultural values in the story might have influenced the comrade’s decision-making process.
