Asynchronous activities can be developed in endless ways, using many platforms and applications. In my high school, we used mail, Facebook groups and Adservio platform, last school year, at the beginning of pandemic.
This school year we use Google Classroom, therefore I upload all materials there, for my students: video/test links, PDF files, Google Forms, Google Docs, Interactive Worksheets, Wordwall games.
They can also upload their homework on the platform, where they can also be graded.

An actual example I have been using for some years is that: While studying 'Romeo and Juliet' by William Shakespeare, I ask students to write a 'Diary Entry' either for Romeo or Juliet (they get to choose), but using the specific language of the characters and the period they lived in. They need to sense the feelings, to justify the choices of characters, and so on. They can decorate the diaries according to their own wish.
In the past, students did them on paper and brought them to school. Now, I ask them to use whatever application they want (Canva, Bookcreator, Word, Pdf, etc.) and post them on their Google Classroom account.

We should offer varied activities in different ways: students can be asked to make internet enquiries on specific sites in order to find useful information.
