smart phone have allowed us to stay connected with folks, make processes faster and in some cases more efficient

* Both regulated and unregulated applications/avenues to both help and hinder educational/social efforts

* Both considered as a big unknowns and still have their grey/blind spots (to varying extents)

In the early days of the internet librarians tried to collect and organize because of the chaos and difficulties of finding information

-the concerns about not knowing how to read maps dissipated with the ease of using GPS

-better and worse! people do not know how to read a map, feel less confident about knowing their way around familiar places, and are more tracked, but also can be more flexible and precise with navigating with ease

-think about what learning outcomes we want the students to get, and use the tool (AI) to meet those learning goals

Main concerns- people become too connected to the screen and it creates anti-social behaviors- violent games create violent people

Some of the fears came true- some of the fears created a host of people that are highly skilled in various activities prior to ever doing it in real life- For example, driving a stick shift car is easier when practicing on a video game.

Everyone thought it was going to destroy brick and mortar universities. It didn't. (Other things are creating issues but its not MOOCs)
