         <description><![CDATA[<div>A chemical reaction occurs when alkali is added to an acid. When the right amounts of alkali and acids are mixed,&nbsp; you will end up with a neutral solution. The process is called neutralization reaction. Neutralization involves an acid reacting with a base or an alkali, forming a salt and water.<br><br>[Acid + Alkali -&gt; Salt + Water, NaOH + <strong>HCl</strong> → H<sub>2</sub>O and NaCl]<br><br> Baking powder is used to cure bee stings and ant bites that are acidic in nature. Toothpaste contains bases that neutralize the acid produced by bacteria in our mouth.
