The works that you see posted here are all unique. However there is a lying theme that connects these works. The journey of life. All of these works portray some aspect of life. As we all know life is a journey. A journey of the good and bad. In Migrant Mother we see a photograph of a mother and here two kids. By the looks of her face she seems tired. The color of the grey and black gives a somberness to this piece. This is similar to the couple in racoon coats as this is also a photo. In this photo we have another persons journey of life. We see a couple that live in Harlem and what they are doing. They have on big coats and seem to be content. Migrant Mother and The couple in racoon coats both portray an aspect of life. It gives us an insight into these individuals life. They also are both grey and black in color and portray real life people. Edward Hoppers Nighthawks also portrays people but in a painting rather than photography. As we see in Nighthawks is yet another portrayal of life. People in a cafe. The use of color and light makes as though these are the only people there. The people seem to be communicating and embarking their own life and what it has to offer them. The use of human life and individual experiences within all of these works ties them together in very similar but different ways.
