This unit is targeted for 3rd grade students but includes approaching and beyond levels and an audio component. 

Goals/Objectives for this unit:
Goal 1:  Students will read and watch other female inventors and their impact on the world with their inventions. 

Goal 2:  By the end of the unit, students will see it doesn't matter your gender; anyone can create something new.

Goal 3: Students will create a research presentation based on a list of female inventors and how their invention has helped us.

Students will choose to research one of the inventors.  They will receive an organizer to complete about their inventor and write an information writing piece.  This writing will require students to detail who they're writing about, a brief overview of their life, what they invented, and how it impacted the world.  Students will then create a visual poster of their inventor to share with the class.
