As a student in the Dublin unified school district, I have seen that the devices used are not affective and adequate enough for developing digital skills for the real world. Furthermore, in the sense of delving deep into the AI sector in middle school and elementary school, chromebooks and iPads prove not sufficient for developing these skills.

Students are able to access a variety of information through google. Most of the sources found on the internet give their background on where they found the information, who the author is, etc. Most teachers provide students with sufficient resources that include information they believe is trustworthy and valuable.

At classrooms, I would like to see education to be more engaged with technology and the future rather than looking into the academic sector. Furthermore, I feel like all teachers should have courses in order to master digital literacy; therefore, communication gaps with students wouldn’t not occur.

In other school districts like Pleasanton, I know high school students there receive a chromebook the school lends to them that they can take home. This gives them a way to do online assignments without needing a personal device they have to buy or having a device to use if their personal devices are damaged for a period of time. Libraries also provide lots of resources like computers, newspaper subscriptions, and more which don’t need payment
