On Westlaw it states ‘BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled’. I found it difficult to navigate the database at first but once I had spent a while on the site and I got use to it and where to find all the information that I needed I found it very easy.

Royal Assistant was given to the bill on the 26th of March 2015. It overall came into force on the 1st of October 2015. This act was introduced by the Secretary of Business, Innovation and skills, Vince Cable. This bill received royal assistant under the reign of Queen Elizabeth the 2nd. Throughout this task I found it difficult, at first to understand how to use WestLaw correctly however after attempting different ways and searching various topics , I was able to find the exact information in which was useful.

I also looked on westlaw and that was similar. So in the future I will be able to use these databases to find pieces of legislation.

Consumer Rights Act 2015 - Lexis

The Consumer rights act 2015 was designed to amend law relating to consumer rights and protection of their interests. This bill was given the Royal Assent on the 26th March 2015, Lexis states, "Be it enacted by the Queen's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled". This act was introduced by The Secretary of Business, Innovation and skills Vince Cable and given royal assent by Queen Elizabeth the 2nd. Personally i found this task very straightforward as Lucy had already shown me how to use Lexis, i didn't use Westlaw at all and stuck to Lexis so in future i could improve my researching skills by using both Lexis and Westlaw as opposed to just using one of the sources in order to ensure i get the full picture and maximize research time, i also find Lexis very easy to use and useful for finding information so for future research and reflection i will use it first.

The statute was given royal assent on the 26th March 2015 by Queen Elizabeth, the Lords spiritual and temporal, commons and the parliament assembly. I found it really hard finding this piece on both lexis and west law because there are lots of information about the topic and I was not sure if what I saw was what I was looking for. I got more familiar with Lexis compared to west law. But I look forward to using both for a good and better research.

Preamble -
The introduction found on Westlaw is as follows:
'An Act to amend the law relating to the rights of consumers and protection of their interests; to make provision about investigatory powers for enforcing the regulation of traders; to make provision about private actions in competition law and the Competition Appeal Tribunal; and for connected purposes.'(1)
The statute was given royal assent by Queen Elizabeth the second on the 26th of March 2015.
It was enacted by her Majesty, 'By and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons,'(1) established by the authority of the Parliament assembled at the time.

I found this task daunting as I have not yet taught myself how to use Lexis or Westlaw effectively. Each database greets with an abundance of text and navigation; this is rather overwhelming. I shall now read chapter six of my Legal Skills book and in turn improve my competence with both.

References:
(1) Preamble | Westlaw UK
