It doesn't make sense to change the name of the school to address the needs of incoming undergrads only then to ignore the needs of the existing graduate student body. The word library or libraries or librarian needs to be included in the school name. I'm going to be a librarian not an informationalist. I want to add that this would have been a deal breaker for me had I been applying after the change.

For branding purposes, I don't really think it's that important that the word "library" stays in the name of the school. If someone is an MLIS student, they can have the "library" in their degree. I agree it's important for the school to stay relevant in this way, and honestly, I would like to see the school attract more people, who are more technically minded. Libraries need their talents, too.

I would prefer having libraries stay in the name, to help people know how it's different from the new Information Management degree. For me at least, it would be confusing having two schools with similar names.
