Taking longer texts and breaking them down into smaller parts gives the students a chance to better understand the text as a whole, especially if they are annotating as they read. Also for Paraphrasing and Reflecting I do this mostly in the classroom with the students to have them use the information and have a conversation to have it relate to everyday life.
