The importance of wheat in their economy

Wheat is Morocco's staple crop, and the average Moroccan eats almost three times as much as the global average and American average. They have had a 77% decrease in water since last September. They usually produce about 4 million tons of wheat per year, and this drought has devastated their economy because they are now only producing 1.5 million tons per year. Their economic growth has slowed from 3.8 percent/year to 1.2 percent. Even the King has asked all citizens to pray for rain, but it may be too late. Rain is welcome, but the damage has been done.

The equations I used and answer

25,000/(568-x)-(67.3/24)= 426.196     x= 128

1. You subtract 568 from the left side and then subtract it also from the right, shown here:

25,000(568-x)-(67.3/24)= 426.196
-568                          -568
2. Then rewrite the equation,
25,000(-x)-(67.3/24)= -141.804

3. Then, you subtract 25,000 from -141.804 and itself on the left side

25,000(-x)-(67.3/24)= -141.804

-25,000                           -25,000

4. Rewriting it again,

(-x)-67.3/24)= -25,141.804

5. You multiply both 67.3 and -25,141.804 by 24, and thus canceling -67.3/24, and getting you your (I can already tell horribly incorrect) answer.

6. Another time, rewriting

(-x)= -603403.296

7.Since x is negative, you make it positive, and you make the right side positive too, and you get your answer:

x= 603403
