What an unusual school year you have just completed!  You have loved your teacher and embraced the classroom community and it made it all the harder to be separated from them since March 11, 2020 until the end of the school year. You have grown physically and in friendships, plus in writing, drama, cello playing, and physical education. You were determined to become a triathlete and have made your first forays into that sport with success. You have also had set-backs in T3, mainly due to a profound sadness and frustration with learning alone. We love you, Redding. You will be able to learn with friends and a great teacher again, and you can do anything you decide to do, whether it comes easily or with more challenge. You can. Stay curious and social and energetic, son. You have a great life ahead.

I am sure you were feeling more than relax and confident to be her student. You were very lucky to have her for 3 consecutive periods.

With the support of your teacher , you have been climbing and discovering the knowledgeable you are, your perseverance and discipline throughout all the year and more over the Love and Passion you were feeling doing your assignments and responsibilities.

You have had an excellent group of friends, meeting new ones and  reuniting the old ones. I am sure you were feeling Happy and Comfortable.

And now with the Virtual Classes, there is no doubt you deserve to be called a “Principled Student”. I am sure this unexpected situation gives you the strength to be more responsible and to highlight some of the IB attributes that  made you grow as an IB student.

Grade 4 is done and what a year it’s been!

You continue to grow enormously both as a learner and a person. You're curious and enthusiastic. You consistently challenge yourself. You set high goals in both the classroom and off it and work really hard to achieve them. Through commitment and dedication, you have excelled in those things you like, particularly in math, in the pool and on the triathlon course. When you put your mind to something and work hard, you can achieve almost anything. 

It hasn’t always been easy. Remember how anxious you were before some of your triathlon and swimming events? Nonetheless you persisted. You never gave up, faced this obstacle of self-doubt and overcame and excelled. We couldn’t have been prouder watching you succeed. Always remember that experiences like these, however difficult, help you to grow as a person and you often learn the most from them.  

Over the last 3 months you have been stuck in the house but you have shown remarkable resilience, independence and maturity and have once again thrived in spite of the exceptional circumstances. Most importantly, through it all you have kept a smile on your face, stayed caring and have maintained strong friendships.

We are both so proud of you, and who you are becoming, and look forward to watching you grow in the coming years. You will certainly remember Grade 4!!

Congratulations to my wonderful and amazing son on the completion of your journey through fourth grade!  

It takes a very special and determined person to be able to adapt to new situations and to  thrive when confronted with new challenges.  This year was a challenge for all children all over the world, and we are very impressed at how well you adapted and succeeded.

What you and your class have gone through in the last year is truly unprecedented and will go into the history books.  It has required you to organize yourself independently, to take on more responsibility for your education and to learn in a very new way. A way that may change the shape of learning for future generations.

Dylan, you  grew immensely during the year.  We are so proud of your hard work that led to great advancement in all your subjects especially reading, writing and mathematics.   Most of all, you learned new skills and independence.  You did such a wonderful job getting your work done and taking responsibility for your learning.  I am very impressed and very proud of you and how well you adapted.  

Keep up the good work, keep your calm and your belief in yourself and your abilities. Most of all never give up on your learning.   The more you put into learning, the more you will grow and the more you will get out of life.  Life never stops teaching!
